Finding Our Way Together: Introducing the 'How To Be...' Podcast

There's something beautifully ironic about launching a podcast called How To Be... only to discover, episode by episode, that none of us really has it all figured out – and that's exactly the point.

When my producer and forever friend Litzi and I first sat down to record this podcast, we thought we were creating a series of conversations that would help people navigate life's big questions. What we didn't expect was how profoundly these conversations would transform us both.

A Different Kind of Conversation

"How To Be..." isn't your typical self-help podcast. It's not about quick fixes or life hacks (though we love a good neurobiology hack when we find one!). Instead, it's an exploration of what it means to be human in this fast-paced, often overwhelming world – told through intimate conversations with experts who've dedicated their lives to understanding different facets of the human experience.

In our first episode, I share my own journey from co-founding Social Bite, a nationwide social enterprise, to becoming a purpose coach. It's a story of burnout, transformation, and finding my way back to myself. But more importantly, it's about the universal experience of feeling lost and finding your path again – something I've learned resonates with so many of us.

What to Expect

Each week, I sit down with remarkable individuals who bring their expertise and wisdom to the big questions we all grapple with:

  • How do we find peace in a world that seems to move faster every day?

  • What does it mean to heal and truly move forward?

  • How can we discover our purpose and passion?

  • How do we navigate relationships – with ourselves and others?

From breathwork specialists to Enneagram experts, from relationship therapists to executive coaches, each guest brings their unique perspective on what it means to be human. And through these conversations, something magical happens: we find permission to be exactly who we are while growing into who we want to become.

More Than Just Talk

What makes these conversations special isn't just the expertise our guests bring – it's the raw, honest way we dive into these topics. We talk about friendship breakdowns, the decision of whether to have children or not, the messiness of personal growth, and the complexity of human connection. These aren't just theoretical discussions; they're real conversations about real experiences that touch all of our lives, to the point where guests even shed some tears while recording, met with my own in admiration and solidarity.

As Litzi beautifully puts it in our first episode, "We're slightly different people at the end of it." That's the transformative power of genuine conversation and connection. Whether we're exploring the neurobiology of a purposeful life or the intricacies of human relationships, each episode offers both practical insights and the comfort of knowing we're all figuring this out together.

Your Invitation

The first three episodes are available now, with new episodes releasing weekly until all 7 from the first series is out in the world! You'll hear from experts like John Paul Mason, Sarah Cumings, Danielle Macleod, Kat Sleadd, Dr Elizabeth Cripps - each bringing their unique wisdom to help us navigate this beautiful, messy journey of being human, and a bunch of other helpful souls along the way.

If you're asking yourself the big questions about life, purpose, your career, relationships, or personal growth – or if you simply want to feel less alone in your human experience – this podcast is for you. Each episode is an invitation to explore, reflect, and grow, all while remembering that there's nothing wrong with us – "humaning" is just hard sometimes.
